Moderated YouTube Downloader, Extractor etc.
David Diamond
I have downloaded it multiple times and could never get it to work past 3 downloads. It was almost as if it was programmed to implode after a set amount of downloads.

Version 3 uses java which I didn't want to install on my system so I chose to keep using version 2 as long as it keeps working. It is designed to be accessible so it works well with JAWS. http://www.pontes.ro/en/ There are newer tools available that others will tell you about, I haven't used any of them so I will leave it to others to tell you about them. I've been using it for years and only had it fail a couple of times. I believe that it was because the video was protected in some way although from the Youtube web site it didn't appear to be that way.

Please understand that I'm not disputing your claim. As a former software developer I know that there are many factors that can affect how a particular program performs, not the least of which is how the system it is running on is configured.

I'm just relating my experiences with the program. Gene... On 10/9/2022 12:26 AM, David Diamond wrote:

I am too. True there are many factors that enter into things. I just found the program useless after multiple attempts at using it. |

Although it continues to work for me, I do note that downloading with Ponce is slow so I just installed TCA downloader. One thing I noted is that the download file isn't always the latest version, the version I downloaded was 2.6.1 and the first thing it did was to update itself to version 2.6.2.

Mine is still at 2.6.1, having downloaded a while ago. How does it update automatically?

It's an option you can set in the Options dialog.
