I am using the last release of version 2 of the Ponce Media Downloader. Version 3 uses java which I didn't want to install on my system so I chose to keep using version 2 as long as it keeps working. It is designed to be accessible so it works well with JAWS.

There are newer tools available that others will tell you about, I haven't used any of them so I will leave it to others to tell you about them.

I don't know what it is about git hub, but even when I expand items, I can
never find a download link, when I enter on a file link, it just takes me to
another page of the same, and I go around and around, never getting stuff
downloaded.
This one is the same.

Hi Glenn,
The best way to use with github downloads is pressing the B button and
press on the first "assets collapsed" item you find, that should open
the latest release files to download.

Hi, Daniel. The tool I use is TCA Media Downloader. It is JAWS accessible, is free, and is updated regularly. It was created in Portugal, and is set by default to start in Spanish, but I can outline steps to set it to English, so you can set the other options. I'll put the link to TCA Media Downloader below, then, after the link, I'll outline the steps for setting it up. Since it is a portable program, it doesn't need to be installed through Programs and features, or through Apps and features.

How To Change From Spanish To English

1. Start the program.
2. Press ALT plus M.
3. Press the letter O for Options. You will be in the General Options.

I've been using this little gem for several months now and what a difference!  Compared to the Pontes Media Downloader I wouldn't touch the Pontes pile of crap ever again!

The only trouble with Pontes is that the engine isn't updated and it is slower than molasses in downloading.
I think that whatever tool it is for youtube links, they have to stay ahead of youtube because youtube is always finding ways to detect downloaders.

Hi Bill,
I do use it whenever I need to download a big playlist, thanks to you
for posting about it initially.
But mostly use the other one for playback and downloading single
files, I am a watcher more than a downloader person.
The simplicity of accessible youtube pro is fantastic, searching,
playing, copying URLS ETC is a one hotkey away, couldn't ask for more.
BTW, the playback on TCA takes much more longer time to start on my
PC, compared with the other app, I'm not sure if its the case with
everyone using it.

Hi Bill and sorry for the late answer. I had Corona and yes, it was the full dosage. Since i have broadband fiber internet with 1 gigabit of speed, i didn't dare to write to this list. What, if i would spread Corona? *scnr*


No honestly. Thank you for the program instructions. I am going to try it out and hopefully may ask you, if there something is not clear. The language settings insttructions were very helpfull and i am sure, there is nothing, that i could mess up. OK, i could set it up to chinese and then i am screwed. *grins*
