Moderated Windows fax and scan?
Jay
Hello all.
I’m wondering, what’s the best fax and scanning app to use? I’ve looked at Windows Fax and Scan, but looks like it only scans images. Is this true, or is there a way to scan actual documents and read them or send them as a fax? I’ve never faxed anything before so if anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated. I have a brother printer that does both faxing and scanning as well as printing so any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated as I said before.
Thanks.

I use Windows fax and scan when I need an exact replica of a document. You can tinker around so that it produces text, but the image of text is adequate if you aren't saving the document for a screen reader.

You can use email to fax services to do this -- they are quite costly,
but some of them have free trials if you only need to do a single item. On Fri, 24 Mar 2023 08:18:09 -0400, Ann Byrne wrote: -- Your life is like a penny. You're going to lose it. The question is: How do you spend it? John Covici wb2una covici@... |

Hey Jay,
You can scan a document, save it as a JPG file, and
use Jaws convenient OCR on it from the context menu without even opening the JPG
image.
