Moderated Windows 11 update this week broke notification center

Hi, I’ve always been able to shift tab from the desktop to get to the notification center. I’ve just noticed that since the update I ran last night I can no longer get to it. How do I fix this? I can get into the task bar but sometimes Jaws won’t read what is there either. And I’ve noticed that sometimes Jaws is reading things 3 times. Any solutions for these issues?

Windows notification are reached by pressing Windows N for notification. I am unable to advise on Jaw’s repetitiveness. David Griffith

In many cases, it takes me straight to the Show Hidden Icons button in the system tray, but even that's not 100% consistent. It's not that there are often not several different ways to accomplish things under Windows, but for things covered by the Windows Key shortcuts those are the most reliable to use, and generally the shortest in that they're a 2-key press. -- Brian - Virginia, USA - Windows 11 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 22H2, Build 22621; Office 2016, Version 16.0.15726.20188, 32-bit; Android 12 (MIUI 13) It’s not lack of contact with the world off campus that leads to the liberal views common in academia — it’s being trained to think critically and practicing this craft daily as we look at the world around us that makes us the libs conservatives so dislike. ~ Eliot A. Hi David, Thanks. I’ve always been able to shift tab to get to the notification center or to the system tray. I can’t get to either of these this way now. And most of the time Jaws won’t even read what is on the task bar. Since programs are open, they should be there. <smile>
Any sshortcut for getting to the system tray?

Should the box for show hidden icons be checked or unchecked?

To reprise the Taskbar shortcut keys. Windows B System Tray Personally I like to hear everything so like to know about hidden items. Windows T Taskbar or use windows key plus the number row to reach each pinned item on the Taskbar. So Windows 1 will normally open File Explorer, Windows 2 opens Outlook on my system and so on. 3. Windows N for notification. Windows D and or M to get the Desktop. Which one works seems to change depending on your situation. Windows a is now Quick settings to get quickly to things like your WiFi settings. Windows X for XP will open up a list of options to run, a git like the old fashioned XP Start menu. . Hi David, I found it and it was checked. I never got the piece about approving it. I also had to do a search once I had control panel open. Apparently it must be embedded under something else. I even tried p but that didn’t work. There were quite a number of other things there, but I only changed that one to see what will happen over the next day or two.

Hi Karen,
If your User Account Control setting is set low
enough or or at zero, you won't get the prompt when turning off Fast
Start.
Those other settings in this dialog are only for
if you want Sleep, hibernate or lock to show in the power options
dialog.
If you couldn't navigate using first letter
navigation it's probably because you have the Control Panel set in Category
View, and you want this to be in either Large or Smaill icon view.
To change the Control Panel view, when you first
open the control panel you're on the search field, so tab 1 time and you'll
probably hear, Category button. Press the spacebar on the Categrory button
to expand the options. Use your up / down arrow keys to either Large or
Small icons and press enter. You'll now be able to use first letter
navigation in the control panel by making this setting change.
Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers. Sent from my iBarstool. "A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort." ----- Original Message -----
