Hi karen.

Okay

  1. Press windows key and the search comes up.
  2. Type commandprompt.
  3. Press the applications key or shift f 10 and then select run as administrator.
  4. Answer yes to the uac prompt.
  5. Then type in the command window sfc /scannow.
  6. Presse enter.
  7. It will then scan your drive and then fix any errors.

To use dism:

  1. Press windows key for search, tycommand prompt.
  2. On the command prompt option in the search, press the applicationskey or shift f 10 and then select run as administrator and answer yes to the prompt.
  3. In the command prompt windows type dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth or /CheckHealth.
  4. Then the scan will scan your system and then find any corrupted issues and fix them automatically.

  7. This helped me out when I had my assuss with windows 10, and now got my hp pavilion with windows 11.

Did the first one and it failed. Could not find the health check on the second one. What do the other items do?

DISM /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth repairs the Windows image.
SFC checks for file corruption and fixes it In your case, again, try
DISM followed by SFC. If both fail, either do an in-place repair of
Windows 11 via the ISO file (Brian has already provided instructions
on how to accomplish this), (I'd recommend doing that before you think
about completely reinstalling Windows), as you want completely
reinstalling Windows to be the absolute last resort.
