moderated Web Ex

Hi Everyone,

To participate in a meeting, the group is using Web Ex.  I can get logged in, but I am muted.  I have tried the control-m, but it does not seem to make any difference.  I have no issues using zoom.

I am using a Windows 10 computer and JAWS 2023.

VFO does not support WebEX.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Barbara:

I have successfully participated in Webex meetings. You have to do lots of tabbing to get to the mute/unmute button, but you can get to it. This assumes you are using the Webex software installed on your computer as opposed to participating in the meeting directly through your browser.

I take it you can hear the participants.

Kindly,

Curtis Chong

Well since it was the first time I used the software I am not sure but I am guessing it went through my browser.  I just signed up for a Webex account today.  Maybe this will help?  I did tab and found the mute/unmute button, but when I pressed enter, nothing seemed to happen.  Like I did mention, I could hear the meeting and the host saw me on the list of participants.  Sigh.   Should I log in first and then try to connect to the meeting?

Hello Barbara:

You cannot test muting and unmuting with Webex unless you have already joined a meeting. I think you get better results if you actually install the Webex program and log in with whatever email address you expect to use to join a meeting.

In most Webex meetings I have joined, I was prevented from unmuting myself unless I raised my hand (another button that you tab to). Then, the host would ask me to unmute. Only then could I tab to and activate the appropriate button.

Cordially,

Curtis Chong

Hi Barbara

I've found sometimes Ctrl+Shift+Mworks in some WebEx meetings to Mute and Unmute especially meetings via the web rather than meetings within a company. Try thithat next time..
