Hi everyone!
With the loss of WeatherRSS, I am now looking for a similar web site or a windows program that is accessible through JAWS and will give me the current weather plus the forecast for the next several days.
I would prefer an RSS feed like WeatherRSS because it needs no additional software to be installed, but am willing to go with a program if nothing to replace WeatherRSS exists.
Years ago, before I lost my vision, I used a system tray program called Wetsock and really liked it but don't think that the company that produced it is still in business, and considering its age, I'm not certain that it would even be accessible. Note that if you decide to try to find this program, I am not certain whether its name is one or two words.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi David!
I am aware of Leasey's weather function, and I used to use Leasey years ago but stopped using it when I encountered problems with JAWS which was eventually traced to Leasey. Freedom Scientific said that while Leasey itself was not the source of the trouble, the fact that there were third party scripts installed into JAWS was. So ever since then, I have avoided using scripts not shipped with JAWS.

Once you access the web site, you can enter your location into an edit box, and you will get the National Weather Service forecast and current weather for that location.
You will also find the National Weather Service office that serves your particular area, and then can use their specific web site from there.
I am my county's amateur radio SKYWARN Team Coordinator, and use this web site all the time, as well as others.
If you have a smart phone, there are other apps you can use for this purpose as well.

Don Walls
Gene, a friend put me on to the ap Weather Underground. It has a paid subscription version but I use the free version. The paid version gives long-range forecasts and the free one just the forecast for a day or so. You type wunderground to get it. It's brilliant because it gives the forecast for your immediate neighbourhood, not a wider area.

The weather channel also has an app that you can download that'll give
you weather info too. That's one of my favorite ones that I use.

Wetsock and really liked it but don't think that the company that
produced
it is still in business, and considering its age, I'm not certain that it
would even be accessible. Note that if you decide to try to find this
program, I am not certain whether its name is one or two words.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Expanding on Tom's suggestion:
the first header 2 gives you current conditions and the 2nd header 2 is
the forecast.
If you prefer seeing as a zone forecast, the old tradional way, there is a
link for that.
And either can be bookmared or saved as a desktop shortcut.
And, of course, by entering a different location in the search box, you
can check on any location in the US you wish.

Once you access the web site, you can enter your location into an edit box, and you will get the National Weather Service forecast and current weather for that location.
You will also find the National Weather Service office that serves your particular area, and then can use their specific web site from there.
I am my county's amateur radio SKYWARN Team Coordinator, and use this web site all the time, as well as others.
If you have a smart phone, there are other apps you can use for this purpose as well.

With the loss of WeatherRSS, I am now looking for a similar web site or a windows program that is accessible through JAWS and will give me the current weather plus the forecast for the next several days.
