Hi Tom, After attending the meeting yesterday, I think calling support and referencing the case number when you do so they can see what has been discussed already would be a good idea.

Hello, everyone.
Below is the response I got from FS Technical Support regarding my issue of Jaws not talking me through the new Jaws update installation process.
I don’t find the response to be very helpful, since the only way I could replicate the issue would be to wait till the next Jaws update, and install it while on the phone with tech support.
I’m typically not a complainer, but I was hoping for a more useful response with work-arounds such as those that some of you have already outlined.

But, as I said earlier, the only way I can replicate the problem is to actually have them see it when trying to install a new update on the Windows 11 PC.
For that reason, I see no benefit in calling them now, since I very clearly outlined the issue in my initial tech support quiry.
Am I missing something here?

And, of course, there is no guarantee that being on the phone at the time of the next installation of an update will reproduce the same issue. Clearly, it's not an issue for most of their customers; and, now that you have the work arounds, you have a path to a successful installation. Just thinking out loud: I wonder of some specific program or system settings will produce this problem. And, if that is the case, how will anyone figure out a fix especially if there are ways to get around the problem. No two people have everything set exactly the same; so stuff like this are inevitable. |
