Moderated System Tray Icons, How To Rearrange Their List Order
Mike B.
How to put the System Tray icons in the
order you want them.
Open settings with, windows key + I ), then
tab one time into the list of categories and down arrow to personalization and
press Enter
Tab 3 times to, Background, and down arrow to,
Taskbar, and press enter.
Now tab to, Other System Tray Icons
collapsed, show all settings button, and press the spacebar to expand
this. Tab 1 time into the list of Notification Area / System Tray
icons.
Arrow through all the icons making a note of which
ones you have checked / turned on because
you're going to uncheck all of them. Uncheck all the icons. Now you will go
through and check the icons in the reverse order you want them in because ,
the 1st one yu check will be at
the bottom of the list, the 2nd will be 2nd from the bottom, the 3rd will be 3rd from the bottom etc. etc.... After you're done open the system tray to make sure it's the way you want it and Alt + F4 if it is, there's not an Apply or Okay button. I don't believe you can change the order of the volume or clock icons, these two icons don't show in my list of System Tray icons. Therefore these two icons will always be at the bottom with the other icons being on top of them. Take care. Mike. Sent from my

I presume you mean under Windows 11.

Hi Brian,
Yes I'm sorry, for both Win11 21H2 and
22H2.
Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Note from a creditor: Dear Sir, Your account has been on our books for over a year. We want to remind you that we have now carried you longer than your mother did!" ----- Original Message -----

for both Win11 21H2 and 22H2.- Thanks. I just posted two administrative notices on two groups where I moderate that are making Windows, Screen Reader, and Specific Software Being Accessed versions required information for queries involving all three. The implication is that for stuff involving Windows, the Windows version gets mentioned, too. There are some significant differences in certain parts of the UI of Windows 10 versus Windows 11, particularly File Explorer and the way you can work with the taskbar. What's funny to me is that File Explorer (in my opinion) has been made more tedious as far as accessibility goes while taskbar management has become significantly less so. Knowing whether it's Windows 10 versus 11 being talked about is going to be very important until Win10 end of life in October 2025. There will be additional tweaks to Windows 11 and I expect that Windows 10 will remain virtually untouched, just kept going as is until it's retired. -- Brian - Virginia, USA - Windows 11 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 22H2, Build 22621; Office 2016, Version 16.0.15726.20188, 32-bit; Android 12 (MIUI 13) It’s not lack of contact with the world off campus that leads to the liberal views common in academia — it’s being trained to think critically and practicing this craft daily as we look at the world around us that makes us the libs conservatives so dislike. ~ Eliot A.
