moderated sluggishness in Jaws

CJ &AA MAY

I upgraded to Jaws 2020 on my Windows 10 computer with Office 365, but am finding it very sluggish and slow to open e-mails – any suggestions?

I also have to keep speeding Jaws up with control alt page-up. I have forgotten how to do this so it remembers.

Won't the keystroke, Alt + T, put you on the Toolbar / menu.  Or, how about pressint the, Alt key and right / left to, Tools, then down arrowing through your options.

Hi!

Is it possible? Even NVDA has a Toolbar Explorer addon and I guess I would need something like that in JAWS. Is there a way?

Mario

control+windows+alt page up makes the change permanent.

Did you install the programs to your p c.  they need to be installed, just as if you bought the software and not 365.

well, the speed of your connection to the Internet is certainly one factor, but you said that you noticed that the sluggishness started after upgrading to JAWS 2020. the problem might not be related to your connection to the Internet at all.

did you notice the sluggishness before upgrading JAWS to 2020?

Alison,
How much RAM do you have? I've got 8 gigs and it doesn't seem to be enough, especially when I've got Jaws, Outlook and OneDrive open at the same time.

Zel,
Thank you for this bit of information. I am running Windows as a Virtual Machine on my Mac and I have been focused on trying to fix VMware Fusion to solve my JAWS issues. My Mac has 16 GB of RAM, but only 8 GB are allocated to the VM. I may be forced to run Windows in a Bootcamp scenario if I want to utilize my Mac hardware.

It's always a good idea to keep Office 365 up to date for security reasons as well as to receive the latest features - including improvements in accessibility. Microsoft seems to have been consistently devoting more resources to accessibility in recent years.
