Moderated Sending jpeg file from laptop to iphone
Kevin Meyers
Hello, I’m using the most recent versions of Outlook2016, Jaws2022 and Windows10. I have an email address in Outlook that is the same as one on my iphone. I attached a jpeg file to an email and sent it to my iphone from my laptop. In Outlook the email appears with the jpeg attachment. On my Iphone the jpeg file is not attached to the email. There is an attachment called winmail.dat. This has been occurring off and on for the last month and now it is all the time. Does anyone know what is causing this problem? I did talk with Apple Accessibility and they figure it is an outlook problem and it is converting the jpeg file into a dat file. Thanks, Kevin |

Hi, Kevin. It may be that the file is not being converted at all, but just the name is being changed by Outlook. On your iPhone, try changing the .dat extension name to jpeg, and it may work as downloaded.

Hi Bill, I found on the internet what I needed to do in Outlook. The instructions are below. The attachment shows up as a jpeg file on the email on my iphone. The winmail.dat file doesn’t show up.
Disable Winmail. dat for Individual Contacts
Cheers,
Kevin
