Moderated Security software

Is anyone using Avast or AVG with Windows 11? And if so, how is the accessibility? I recently found that Defender is not doing the job in Win 11 as it is in Win 10. Thanks, Marie

This does not answer your actual question, but any reason not to use
Windows Defender? A lot of the third party security software introduces more problems than they solve because of problems integrating with windows and that kind of software needs to use undocumented interfaces which can be problematic. Hi. What is it not doing in 11 that it did in 10?
Thanks, Dennis T. Brown

Look at the most recent testing results from the following antivirus/security testing labs, along with the historical results from the past several years if you want to see how Windows Security/Defender has been performing. Windows Security has been solidly in the top 10, often top 5, and frequently beats out several well-known competitors that one must pay for. Of course, all 4 of those sites have rearranged their hierarchies. The following links and tips on what to look at are much easier to deal with:

Brian, I have been a supporter of Windows Defender for years and only defender and totally trust it. My concern was only that there are some reports saying that the performance is not equal using Win 11 as it has been with Win 10. Therefore I feel it is important to check out alternatives if they become necessary. I have not done further investigating to see if the reports are accurate and am currently still using Windows Defender. I just don’t want to get careless. Marie
