Moderated reading pdf's
While there is nothing wrong with using,
Adobe Acrobat reader DC
to read a PDF,
you can also use Chrome or Edge to read a PDF, with little to no trouble.

How do I read PDF’s with JAWS? I downloaded Adobe Acrobat reader DC. When I open the PDF it brings up all these options such as contents, go to page, settings etc. I don’t know how to use Adobe. Please help.

Hello:
Reading a text-based PDF in Chrome, Edge, Brave or whatever can work. But what happens when the PDF document contains scanned pictures of text? Then, a certain amount of optical character recognition would need to be performed. Fortunately, JAWS now has this capability built in.
Best regards,
Curtis Chong

Note that there are links with the Security Enhanced section to explain the consequences of
unchecking items there, and you may want to find out what they have to say.
If you have been here before, it will be the item you last opened. Arrow
down to Security Enhanced. Note that this is the item below "Security."
Then uncheck these 2 options, the 2nd option is not necessary to uncheck but, optional:
Enable Protected Mode at startup, needs to be unchecked.
Enable Enhanced Security, does not need to be unchecked.
Note. When making changes in the Security Enhanced section, you will be told
that Adobe needs to be restarted, but you can wait to finish the other
changes first.
it. Scroll down to the Set-up Assistant and press enter. The Set-Up
Assistant has four screens. Go through all the screens making the necessary changes for your needs, pressing spacebar on "Next"
in each instance until you get to the, Done, button. Press enter on, Done, and alt + F4 to close Adobe.
Note from a creditor: Dear Sir, Your account has been on our books for over a year. We want to remind you that we have now carried you longer than your mother did!"
