Turning off auto complete seems to be a bit drastic!! JAWS did not do this until the last few months, there must be a best solution.

This happens because you are typing in a name in the To, CC, or BCC fields. If you don’t want that to happen, you need to tell Outlook not to use the AutoComplete list.
From the inbox, press Alt with F, then T to get into the options list. Down Arrow to Mail, then press ALT with G to get to the appropriate checkbox.

Running Outlook 2021 with JAWS 2022, I’ve occasionally been composing emails when JAWS Will rattle off a name from my contacts and say “Recent People”. It does not seem to be a consistent problem, but I cannot figure out the trigger. Anyone seen this and have an idea why this is happening?

I agree that turning off autocomplete is drastic and not something I want to do. I use the autocomplete function with regularity at my work computer running Office 365 and the February release of JAWS 2022. I first noticed the issue on my home computer when I upgraded Office to a license for Office 2021. At first I thought it was an issue with Office 2021 or some setting in the new install that I needed to turn off, but I’m not sure. I don’t think it happens on my work PC, but I’m using a different combo of JAWS and Office, so it’s not an equal comparison. Funny thing is that it is happening when I’m typing in the body of the message, after I have moved away from the address fields, so I don’t think it has to do with the autocomplete, unless JAWS is retaining something in the buffer. Even then, I didn’t recall the name JAWS read out being close to something that would have come up in the autocomplete as I addressed the email. I’ll have to pay closer attention to any correlation there… Maybe I can call AIRA next time it happens to see if anything shows on screen.
