Moderated Question Regarding Bookmarks Access In Google Chrome
Tom Behler
Hello, everyone.
I don’t know if something changed with a recent Google Chrome update, but I’m now having trouble quickly accessing my bookmarks list in Google Chrome.
As recently as yesterday, I was consistently able to do this by opening Google Chrome, and then hitting Alt F, followed by the letter B.
Now, when I do an Alt F, I’m immediately put into something called history, and can’t use the letter B. to get to my bookmarks list.
I can hit Alt F and up arrow to bookmarks, and hit enter on it to get the bookmarks list, but this involves extra steps that I’d like to avoid.
My screen is maximized.
Any suggestions for restoring the Alt F B sequence for accessing my bookmarks list would be appreciated.
Thanks as always!

Tom,
I’ve always pressed alt, then space, then B to bring up the list. As of this morning it still works.

Hello:
Press Alt and wait a bit. A menu should come up. Now press space. Another menu should come up. Hope this helps. This assumes you are already on a web page and running Chrome.

After you press the spacebar JAWS says “Control tab” and then “control+T”. After that you can either press the letter B, or arrow down until you hear Bookmarks and press enter.

I’m having trouble getting this to work, but another colleague just gave me the alt shift B sequence, which does seem to work here in terms of accessing my bookmarks list.
In other words, I open Google Chrome, hit alt shift B, and I’m in my bookmarks list.

Yes, this does get me into the bookmarks manager, but then I need to find my bookmarks list from there.

Hi, Tom. My Chrome is up-to-date, and works as it always has. You may have to reinstall Chrome. I think something is wrong with your installation. You'll also need to remove anything from the Google folder under Users>"username">AppData in Local, and in Roaming. The two files you want to save out of there are Bookmarks and Bookmarks.bak. They will be under User Data>Default.

That’s really strange.
It works consistently for me here.
When I invoke alt shift B after opening Google Chrome, I get placed on the bookmarks bar, and can then make my selections there via a comination of using my up and down arrow keys and first-letter navigation.
