moderated Question About Windows 11 and File Explorer

Curtis Chong

Greetings:

If anyone is using Windows 11 with JAWS, have you been able to use some of the more advanced functions if File Explorer? In particular, upon reading how to do things like set Folder Options or map network drives in File Explorer under Windows 11, reference is made to a Three Dot icon on the Toolbar which is supposed to be a More Options button. How one gets to this button (three dots icon) without a mouse is unclear in the trade press.

In any case, if anyone has information about this, I would appreciate hearing from you on this subject.

Many thanks.

Yours sincerely,

Curtis Chong

Hi Curtis.

When you’re in File Explorer, press ALT. JAWS doesn’t say anything, but once you hit that key, hit RIGHT ARROW twice. You’ll be on the icon you’re wanting.

Have a blessed day and don’t work too hard.

I just opened a file explorer window, hit ALT, then arrowed over right three times and I was able to activate the menu with space bar.

Good morning:

It is unfortunate that JAWS doesn’t speak anything here. Another change made that requires some adjustment, I guess.

Thank you for checking this out.

Cordially,

Curtis Chong
