Hi All, A question about office 365 version number. My word and outlook apps and so on is 2016, when there are updates, why don’t my apps get updated to 2019? Is there a way to get them updated to 2019?

Good question. I’ve not heard great things about Jaws and Microsoft 2019, so I have not really looked into it. I also haven’t bothered to call Microsoft and ask.

Hi, Using Office 365 and JAWS 2021. No major issues other than those that have lingered over last couple of JAWS versions. Nothing major. In your office application you need to go to options , under the file menu, and then update.

Dan, I’m not finding an update option under Files, Options. Could you say more where you are finding this?

1. Office 365 (like most recent versions of Office) should be self-updating. It never hurts to check, but it's unlikely to turn up anything when you do. If you are a Windows 10 User, and look in your Update History under the Quality Updates section, you'll very likely see a number of items related to Microsoft Office if you have Office.
2. Microsoft 2016, 2019, and 365 are all rooted in the same code base, a lot of which has not changed. So specific version numbers on components that really haven't changed could reflect 2016 in all three. 3. There have definitely been updates to specific components in 2019, and especially 365, as time has marched on. -- Brian - Windows 10 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 2004, Build 19041 The purpose of education is not to validate ignorance but to overcome it.

Not finding it under options either, but under account ... there is an ‘update options’ thing. It’s alt f then d and r, so think of President FDR for that. Are those the option you mean, Rich and others on the thread?

It's under File > Office Account. Also, for Office 365 there is no Office 2019, this refers only to the stand-alone version. With Office being a subscription product you will always have the latest version.
