Moderated Office 2021 tips for blind

Hi folks. This weekend my computer, only six years old and a solid state drive, died. My tech guy has installed a new drive with greater memory and Office 2021 which gives me a new email setup. I'm glad to have emails but don't know how to move around the email tree (for instance, to Sent and other folders) as well as creating new folders. Also, I'm not sure how to set up my address book/contacts or to create new Word files and name them. Any help towards a keystroke list, etc. would be much appreciated.
It's an ill wind that blows no good. It was time I updated anyway! Don |

Interesting, I just picked up a brand new copy of Office 2007, I am very seriously considering downgrading my Office 2016 to it to get rid of that very confusing back stage view thingy they stuck in the file menu.

You can, and should, uncheck backstage view. I got that and other setup tips from a training document that I thought I'd kept, but it looks like I didn't. If I'm not mistaken, the author is David Bailes. It might be worth Googling.

There is a setting for that but what it does is turn off back stage view if you don't use the file menu, I would do that except that Moneysoft's keyboard shortcuts are often convoluted and make no sense. I wish the setting disabled back stage view completely, but it doesn't.

Here are a number of useful keyboard commands you can use to address this.
Although this is not inexpensive, the textbooks from Blind Training might be helpful to you. Check out the web page on textbooks for Office 365, found at
I have been a user of Office for more than twenty years now. The old keyboard commands still work.

A free resource is the JAWS webinars on outlook. there is one for advanced users, and three for more average learners starting at the beginning. they are well done, and can be downloaded to keep forever.

Microsoft also thoroughly documents using all of the Microsoft Office/M365 suite programs with a screen reader.
