Moderated making a master spreadsheet with Excel

Hi everyone!
Have you got your Power Ball tickets yet? :-)
This question isn't about using Excel with JAWS so if there is a resource where I can learn how to do what I'm looking for, just point me to it and I'll take it from there.
What I want to do is create a spreadsheet that doesn't allow me to save back to it unless I got through an extra step or save it as a certain type of spreadsheet. Instead it loads as untitled forcing me to save it somewhere else or under a different name than what I loaded it under. I think this would be called a template, but I'm not sure. Basically the spreadsheet I'll create will have all the text labels and all the formulas in it, but no data. Then after I have added data, I would look at the results and either not save the spreadsheet with data or save it under a different name.
I hope that all makes some kind of sense.

Excel can use Workbook Templates that are exactly analogous to Microsoft Word Templates (whether fillable or not). Microsoft has a site hosting scads of these: https://templates.office.com/en-us/templates-for-Excel
Just as Word Templates have an X at the end of the extension, DOTX, Excel templates do as well, XLSX.
You can create a Workbook that's to your liking with all the labels, formulae, etc., that you like, and then do a Save As choosing an Excel Template format. When the XLSX template file is activated, a separate copy, ready for editing, opens giving you exactly what you had in it at the time it was saved as a template.
Many tutorials exist on working with Excel template files.

I also made a lottery spreadsheet years ago, with formulas that I created to
show different counts of various values of ball combinations.
What I did was to protect it so it wouldn't be able to be saved, so even if
I or someone did save, the save as field came up, meaning it had to be given
another name.

By protect, do you mean Excel's protect function, or do you mean marking the file as read only?
And if you mean Excel's protect function, wouldn't you have to unprotect the spreadsheet before you could put anything into it?

Yes, I should have been more clear.
I simply made it read only.
But in my work stuff, I have made cells read only too.

And yes, this is a spreadsheet I created that allows me to put the winning numbers in the top section, then put my tickets in the bottom section, then just to the right of each ticket it tells me how many of the winning numbers the ticket matched.

I have sort of quit doing as much, since I'm not working now, I don't have
as much spare money to play, but I have all the powerball numbers since the
beginning, and my spreadsheets calculated certain numbers up until they
changed the game a bit, and new countif functions started after they started
doing numbers.
I used to play trends and what numbers were common, yet due to come up.
I did pretty well with that.
But I think there are web pages with much of the same calculations that I
had in my spreadsheets.

About 25 years ago, when I played the Florida Lotto game regularly, I wrote a program to analyse the drawing results and then give me recommendations about what numbers to play. I did OK with it, but for me is was more about the challenge of coming up with an analysis technique than it was about winning. Winning was always nice, but that wasn't why I played. So after about six months, I stopped buying tickets but continued to play with the program for the entertainment value. That only lasted several years, then I quit playing lotteries altogether. Now I only play when the jackpot gets interesting like it is now, and that is because now I have to think more carefully about how I spend my money. My income isn't what it used to be and in about 18 months I will lose about 40% of what I get now.

Can't you just make the file a "rad only" file? Then when you load it, it'll force you to change its name in order to save it again.

Absolutely. Create the spread sheet according to your exact specs, and save it as a .xltx file.
