Moderated Lenovo Re-boot Using Power Button Solved
Hello, everyone.
A trip to our local Best Buy and a visit with the Geek Squad solved my issue of wanting to boot up my new Lenovo laptop via the power button, rather than opening the lid.
They had to go into the bios to make the needed change.
They also disabled fast start-up.
So, I think I’m now all set.
Thanks to everyone for your extreme patience in helping me deal with this issue.
It was obviously a bit more complex than expected.
Tom Behler
Very happy to hear that you finally got this resolved.
May I ask which model of laptop you have? Think pad or idea pad or what?
And, finally, did they turn off fast start up in Windows or in the BIOS?
Enjoy your new laptop.

I have a Lenovo Yoga 6.
I guess it’s technically a laptop, but it’s the size of a tablet.

Hi Tom,
Do you know the dimensions? And is the keyboard keys close together? The one I have the keys are too far apart for my little fingers. I keep hitting the wrong things at times. <smile>

Karen:
The Laptop is a Lenovo Yoga 6, and is exactly the size of a 8 and a half by 11 sheet of paper.
I guess it’s not technically a tablet; more like a notebook.
And, the spacing of the keys has caused no issues for me. If it does, I can always use a larger USB or bluetooth keyboard.
My biggest challenge has been getting the laptop set up the way I like it, and learning the Jaws laptop commands I need.
I hope this helps.

Karen, there’s not a number pad.
That’s why I have to use some special Jaws laptop configuration commands to work along with the shift lock key which becomes the insert key.

Cost me all of $10.
