I usually use their free version or in some cases, the 14 days trial to clean a badly infected system.

Nobody in their sane mind would trust malware. However if we are talking about Malwarebytes here, is there any reason not to trust the software?

The version that I got from the link that is given here is from
April of 2014. I am pretty sure that this is the same one that I
had back then. If there is any improvement in accessibility in

You can download the premium version with a 14-day trial. Once the trial expires it will automatically revert to the free version. You will lose features such as real-time scanning. So when it reverts Windows Defender will automatically assume the role. After that you will need to manually run scans. Only issue you will have during the 14-day trial is a constant request to purchase the Premium package.
