Hi all,

If this is an Outlook thing and not something that can be fixed within Jaws then please just tell me and I’ll ask elsewhere.

Sometimes when I’m going through my inbox after Jaws has said all of the info about the message it will say something like “1 of 400,” but it doesn’t always say this; is there any way to get this to always be said? When I’m going through messages sometimes it’s nice to know how many messages are in my inbox. Using the latest version of Jaws 2022 and Microsoft 365. Thanks

Hello:

I use the JAWS command JAWS Key plus number pad 3. If using the laptop layout, it is JAWS key plus shift plus n. Try that and see how well that works.

Assuming you are using laptop layout, hit the caps lock key with your left hand and 3 on the num pad or the up arrow with your right hand to read the line. You will hear the number of messages at the end.

I haven’t used insert-5 for this purpose, but I just did and discovered it has a huge advantage over the insert-3 status line command. It not only lists the number of messages in a folder, but also the position of a particular message in that list. It’s a feature I’ve always missed since moving from Outlook Express to Outlook.

I can't get either insert five or insert three to work in mail. Period, of course, this is Microsoft Mail.
