Moderated How do I get JAWS to tell me when text is over into the next column in Excel?
Marty Hutchings
I am using JAWS 2019 and Excel 16 on a Windows 10 computer and I need JAWS to let me know when the text in an Excel column is too wide and not showing completely. I have had this reported before and forgot how to get it again. I have pressed In cert 6 and have gone through all of those settings, but don't find this there.
Thanks. Marty Hutchings |

1. Press insert + V for JAWS quick settings.
2. In the search box, type "vis". 3. Arrow down to the one result: "detect cel visibility" and check it. OK |

Will this setting stick for all Excel files, or do I need to do this for every file that I open or create?

I think Excel sends something to the screen reader automatically. I'm using NVDA, but when I enter too much for a cell, the screen reader says "overflowing". I bet JAWS does something similar.
