Hello Eric,
I would like to find out why you have removed the talking installer from the
latest billed of JAWS?
That is no good if you are blind.

Hi,
If someone is using windows 10, you can bring up Narrator for the install.
In fact, you can do most anything using the Narrator in 10 & 11.
I would say that even Narrator in windows 7 could get anyone through the
install of Jaws.

running a screen reader when you attempted to do the installation? Are you a
new JAWS user or simply updating to the current release? I confess that on
my system, whenever I do an installation, I do have a prior version of JAWS
running. Hence, I cannot replicate your situation.

I just installed latest update and there was no talking installer; is that

I just did a JAWS repair, I turned off my installed version of JAWS and there was no speech with the repair. I turn on narrator. Previously when I have updated or installed JAWS there was always a previous version doing the talking. I suspect that a totally new install would have speech.----- Original Message -----

Actually, there is no real reason for turning off JAWS when running a repair. I never have been advised to do that in the past.

I just unloaded JAWS and ran the installer, and it started talking to me in
US Tom's voice, so I know it's still there.
