Moderated Google Intruding On Web Pages

Hi,
I get this annoying thing in FireFox, I don't use Edge enough to know if it would occur there. I'm wondering if some sites do this, and it is unavoidable, or if there is something I can turn off in Firefox so I don't get these google sign in offers at the top of many pages. I have to close it to get the message to go away. I don't want to use google to log in on web sites. Thanks |

Pretty sure it is website specific. Many sites now offer you the chance to log in using your google account. Since it's technically not an ad as such, I don't think ad blockers flag it and it's just there, hanging around being stinky. -----Original Message-----

I don't use Google, I use startpage, which hides me from Google. It isn't on all pages, just pages that have a log in option. Glenn ----- Original Message -----

I've not found a way to get rid of that. It is rather annoying. Some websites want you to sign into google rather than your account at their website. Annoying. Karen -----Original Message-----

As an aside, this is but one of the reasons, regardless of the browser, that I do two things:
1. Set it up such that when I exit the browser, that it will reload my last session when it's fired up again. 2. Don't log out on most sites that require me to log in. For things like Gmail, Groups.io, and many online forums, to name but a few, it's just fire the browser back up and I'm still logged in and on precisely the same page(s) I was using when I last closed out the browser. It would drive me insane to have to log in again and again and again when it's really not necessary. My laptop almost never leaves my home, and even when it does, never leaves my physical possession. -- Brian - Virginia, USA - Windows 11 Pro, 64-Bit, Version 22H2, Build 22621; Office 2016, Version 16.0.15726.20188, 32-bit; Android 12 (MIUI 13) It’s not lack of contact with the world off campus that leads to the liberal views common in academia — it’s being trained to think critically and practicing this craft daily as we look at the world around us that makes us the libs conservatives so dislike. ~ Eliot A. Hi Brian,
These are mostly sites with articles, that I don't
have an account with.
But the problem I had with eBay was unrelated to my
browser retaining the login info, eBay periodically does this to people for
security measures.
So although my credentials were auto-filled, I
still had to do the captcha thing.

The "not logging off" is pretty much part and parcel of these choices, in most cases, with the very rare exception. ~ Eliot A.
