Hello,
How do I get JAWS to read the date modified and folder size in file explorer? I have details checked and these columns are checked to be displayed.

If you are in the Windows file explorer, when you are on the file you are interested in, just use the right and left arrows to move from one column to the next or previous.

Hi, David. An easy way to get these details to read is, change the folder type to Documents or General. You can do this in the following way,
1. Navigate to the folder, not the shortcut. 2. Press ALT plus ENTER for Properties. 3. Navigate to the Customize tab. 4. Select the type of folder you want. (if you want date modified, choose General or Documents). 5. TAB to Apply and press ENTER. 6. TAB to OK, and press ENTER.
Then, as Gene said, use the left and right arrows to get JAWS to read the date modified and date created.

It sounds like Gene Warner has already covered how you get this information to read for a single file as you're moving among what's shown in File Explorer.
The following tutorial may prove helpful for those who want to set up Details view in File Explorer, possibly customize what columns are shown, and/or apply that format to all folders of the same type as where you're setting it up across the entire computer. If you only want to change the current folder you are in you can also use the view menu in file explorer, go to the layout sub menu, then to the views option. Once there choose details from the view options provided. Then you can use the right and left arrows to hear the contents of each column for the file you are focused on.
