Moderated downloading a PDF file
Kevin Meyers
Hello, I’m using the most recent versions of windows10 and Jaws2023. I’m using Adobe Acrobat reader. I have downloaded a PDF file from my bank. For some reason the entire PDF file doesn’t show up. I tried doing a control page down and it didn’t switch to a new page. I printed the PDF and then scanned it. The entire file shows up. Is there a setting in adobe Acrobat reader that will allow the entire PDF file to show? thanks, Kevin a setting in Adobe Acrobatic reader to allow the entire PDF file to show? I have other PDF files from the bank and the entire file shows up just by arrowing down.

Hi,
If your PDF is coming up as an empty document your version of JAWS should be able to OCR the file using the layered command.
Your layered command is:
Insert +O + D
If your document/ PDF is large it will take time.
When it is done, if you go to the end to the

Of the document you will be able to save it to a Word file.
If you have problems please let me know.

I usually read .pdf's with Microsoft edge. As long as they are text, it works better than Adobe for me.

I can get into the file and there is text. It just stops after the first page.

Hi, Kevin. In Adobe Acrobat DC, under Preferences, which you reach with CONTROL plus K, 1. Arrow up and down until you find the category: Reading. 2. TAB once, and you will hear, Page vs Document: Combo box ‑ Read the entire document 4. TAB to OK, and press ENTER.
This may solve your problem, but if it does not, you may need to OCR the PDF with, Convenient OCR with JAWS, which you reach by being focused on the filename of the pdf document, without opening it, then use the Applications key to arrow down to, Convenient OCR with JAWS, and press ENTER.

Kevin, have you tried the commands that can be found under the View Menu and Page Navigation? See if the keyboard commands there work for you.
If not you need to go into the Preferences found under the Edit Menu.
Look through the accessibility tab; Look through the Page Layout;
See if any of the settings are the way you want a PDF to open.
