moderated difference in virtualize control and virtualize window
Van Lant, Robin
I started using insert alt W to virtualize a window when I had dialog boxes that wouldn’t read fully. I then heard mention of insert Shift V to virtualize a control. I’m trying to get my head around the differences and best cases uses for each. While composing this message in Outlook, I notice that virtualizing the window only reads the headers, so it’s not really virtualizing the full screen or program window. Virtualizing control does nothing, so there is obviously some aspect that has to be present to get that one to work. So, what are your thoughts on these two options? Use cases?
Using Windows 10, JAWS 2021, Office 365.

Hi Robin, toggle quoted messageShow quoted text
the difference between windows and control is that a control is a single thing like a button or a listbox or a combobox whereas a window is a container for a bunch of controls. So a file manager windows consists of a tree view, al list view, some symbol buttons and so on.
Hope this helps
