Moderated Consistently Finding the Post button in Groups.IO Discussion Threads Online

Hi all,

Using JAWS 2023 and Chrome. One thing that is driving me crazy is that I only manage to find the reply to group or post button about half the time when attempting to respond to Groups.IO messages on line. I hit the reply button when I want to send something, paste my text into the rich text edit field, and Tab. And as I said, about half the time the reply to group or post button doesn’t appear. Any ideas on how I can get this to work consistently?

My guess is that the page is slow to refresh after you've tabbed out of the edit field.
Try using the control F to find the word group.

Also, if you have not recently cleared your browser cache, do so.  This can sometimes clear up weird behaviors such as this one.

From my sighted perspective, what's going on with you is very interesting, in that when I hit the Reply control, when the edit area appears, the Reply to Group, Private, and Discard buttons appear even before I have access to the edit box to put in text.  They're never "not there," though I've had plenty of occasions where, for whatever reason, the actual edit box and its formatting controls haven't loaded correctly.  But the buttons beneath are always there right away.

eeI just cleared the cache. After hitting the reply buttion, instead of just starting to type in the rich text area, I went back to the top of the page, hit E until I got into the subjext field,tabbed to the message field, wrote my text. this time when I tabbed, I found the respond to group button. And it worked. Just one of those strong tech tings I guess.
