Hi, Mona. This announcement is letting you know that Google has access to your location. This notice is a privacy alert, notifying you that Google knows your approximate location. I will post that announcement here, so you can look at it as text, so that it won't slide off your screen, and become unavailable for you to look at.
Alert!
To change it so that Google does not know your approximate location, press the F6 key until you reach the address bar. Here, you will see a button which says, This site can access your location.
Press ENTER on this button. After doing this, if you look closely, there will be two radio button check boxes. One will say, Continue allowing this site to access your location. The second check box will say, Always block https://www.google.com from accessing your location.
Whichever check box you choose, you will continue to receive an alert. It will either say, This site can access your location. or it will say, This site is blocked from accessing your location.
If you are using JAWS 2022, and have the latest JAWS updates, you can go into a history of notifications by using INSERT plus SPACE, followed by N. Here you can enable a rule which will block the voicing of these two alerts. You can do this by using the, Enable Rules button, and the Create Rule button.
Once these notifications are blocked from voicing by the Notification rules feature, you won't hear them anymore.

Instead of hitting F6 until you get to the address bar, you can go straight to the address bar by using F4 or control+L.

Hi, Gene. I am aware of these two keystrokes, but I gave the familiar keystroke, because Google Chrome tells you to use F6, and I didn't want to cause confusion if Mona heard,

Do you mean alt+d? That is a keystroke I use fairly often. -----Original Message-----

Hello.
What you are describing doesn’t sound familiar. Perhaps you could give more detail. What doest he statement say? If you give exact wording, someone could search for the specific messagea nd see what comes up on the web, or you could do so yourself. Your address “in the address bar” is just the address of wahtever website you are visiting. But again, i may not be understanding what you are saying.

Ok, I think I need to stay off this machine for a while. You are exactly correct. It is Alt+D. Sorry.

It happens. One woudl logically assume taht 'alt-a" might be a keystroke to
