Moderated Sharing A Link To A OneDrive File
Tom Behler
Hello, everyone.
I’m making progress with OneDrive here, but still have one dilemma.
How can I copy a link to a OneDrive file that I want to share with someone else, and then send them that link in an e-mail?
When I used to select a file on OneDrive, I was able to arrow down to an option in the context menu which said something like create a link and copy to clipboard. Then, I could simply paste that link into an e-mail, and the person would have it.
I am now signed into OneDrive with my Microsoft 365 account, but when I get to the “share” option, the option to copy a file link is no longer there.
I googled for some instructions, and those instructions said that once I get to the share option, I should right click on it, and the sharing a link option would appear. This has not happened for me so far.
I’m using the latest version of Jaws on a Windows 10 PC.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi, After selecting the file right click and select either “Copy link: or “share”. If you copy the link you can paste it in an e-mail. If you select share you will have several options including e-mail.
Options are slightly different on smart phones but similar. Keep at it. One drive is a bit intimidating at first but is very forgiving and easy to learn.

Dan and all:
I’m happy to report that my OneDrive file sharing issue has now been resolved.
It turns out that I was not signed into OneDrive, so my files could not properly sync with the Microsoft OneDrive server via my Microsoft 365 account.
The option to sign in to OneDrive on the system tray no longer seems to work with Jaws, because Jaws no longer speaks the options for signing in either with a code or your Microsoft password.
My sighted wife helped me click on the sign-in option, after which I was able to complete the sign-in process.
I then worked with Microsoft accessibility to set things up so that I would automatically log into OneDrive whenever I access the app from the desk top, so hopefully, that will continue working.
I also asked the Microsoft Accessibility technician to let the developers know of this most recent problem with Jaws, and they said they would do so.
If others have this issue, I’d urge you to report this to Microsoft Accessibility, or to Freedom Scientific.
Thank you!
