Moderated inaccessible page links

Van Lant, Robin

Justin,

Since you have AIRA, try asking the rep to tell you what is visually happening and where the clickable aspect is. You might find a trick that is repeatable. For example, may they will tell you that there is a small graphic just to the left of where the Listen Now text is or that when you left mouse click it, a button appears.  I like to ask AIRA to describe the page for me so I can see if I can come up with a workaround for the future.

Sometimes it works to route the JAWS cursor to the PC cursor, then arrow a couple times to be sure I landed in the right place and then do a left mouse click.

Maybe show us the site so otehrs can take a stab at it. The method described earleir with rooting the mouse and doing the simulated click does work in some cases. You could also root the mouse pointer there and do a real mouse click, that is, a left click with your mouse if you have one, with the pointer where it needs to be.

Hi, Justin. Have you tried routing JAWS to PC, followed by a Left Mouse click,

route JAWS to PC

Desktop keyboard layout:

JAWS key plus Minus key on NumPad

Laptop keyboard layout:

CAPS LOCK+LEFT BRACKET

Left Mouse Click,

Desktop keyboard layout:

NumPad Slash

Laptop keyboard layout:

CAPS LOCK+8 on the numbers row?

These two sequential commands may produce the desired result when there is no element identifier.

Have you tried just hitting enter or space on it? I find quite a few web pages with elements on them that JAWS doesn't identify as a link or other control but they still work when I click on them. For example, Amazon has a share graphic on most, if not all, of their product pages that JAWS says is just a graphic, but when I click on it, I get a pop up menu with choices of how I want to share the item.
