Does shift control N still work for creating a new folder?

Of course, as you've noted, CTRL + SHIFT + N works, too. I tend to use that far more frequently than ALT + 2, but either is an "easy to handle" keyboard shortcut for me. I imagine ALT + 2 might be easier than CTRL + SHIFT + N for certain users. -- Brian - Virginia, USA - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 22H2, Build 19045 If you cannot or will not imagine the results of your actions, there’s no way you can act morally or responsibly. Also, to be perfectly clear, in the ALT + 2 command you must use the 2 on the number row, not in the number pad. I realize most screen reader users will have the number pad in use for screen reader commands to begin with, but I have occasionally seen folks try certain "digit" shortcuts with the NumLock on and the digit on the number pad, and very often this will not work. Sometimes it matters whether we're talking Num Row or Num Pad when it comes to the digit press.

Thanks, Milton.
This is good to know, because I use the shift control N command a lot.

Hi,
that ALT+2 shortcut does not work if the window is not maximised. Try maximising the window before you issue it. Regards, Nermin |

It should work in the root directory of the drive, too. I just tested it on my e drive right after opening it and it works there. But seems this command is weirdly inconsistent. I’ve never had ctrl-shift-n fail to work, so I just use that..I don’t thinkt aht keystroke is going anywhere
