It’s global Karen and I have had few issues with it prior to 2023.

So this key changes things so you can hear Jaws speak, say over top of a youtube video? And is it a global command? Is it a permanent or temporary change?

My apologies if any of this has been answered already, but I had internet issues all weekend, well,, since Friday morning.

Hi Tom/all,

Simply use the layer command jawskey-space then d. I have so far not been able to use jaws 2023 and my dealer chided me saying I should have waited a bit longer. So I simply can’t test this on your behalf. I simply hope it will work for you.

Hello, everyone.

I just updated both of my Windows 10 laptops to Jaws 2023, and noticed that audio ducking seems to have been turned off.

I’m saying this because now, Jaws completely dominates my output sounds audio, and my various Windows and system sounds are very hard to hear.

If I need to turn audio ducking back on, can someone give me a refresher on how to do this?

Thanks!

Hi Tom,

Thanks. I missed the escape part so it didn’t seem to save it the way I set it.

I will definitely experiment this week. I’ve got some youtube videos I need to listen to later.

Karen:

The insert space D command is a toggle, so it will stay where you set it, until you change it again.

Just hit esc ape once you set it according to your preference, and you should be good to go.

Some simple experimentation will let you know which setting you prefer.

I can not say anything about 2022 or 2023 but here with 2019 everything works just fine.

I found that in JAWS 2023 with audio ducking turned on many system sounds were being ducked even though JAWS wasn't speaking, so I turned audio ducking off for now.

I have reported this to Vispero and they asked me to try it in default mode and the problem was still there, which I reported, I haven't heard anything from them about this since.
