Then you're missing results from websites that either don't promote themselves as actively as those on the first page or that aren't visited as often. If you're looking for book reviews, the first page of results is typically dominated by Amazon, Goodreads, B&N, and other booksellers. Big name publications, such as the NY Times and the Guardian, are also likely to appear there. Very useful information can be gleaned from results on subsequent pages. It isn't only book reviews.

Usually I get the best results in the first 10 results, but I have gone out as far as 30 results. On startpage, you can press #3 to jump from result to result, and the letter B to jump to page 2 and B on that page and so on. Glenn ----- Original Message -----

I’m running Windows 10 with all the latest updates and JAWS. To go to the next page there are links, not buttons. The links are titled “Page 2”, etc.
If you are navigating using headings, you get to a heading that says, “Page Navigation”. Under this are the page links I mentioned above. The following heading is titled “Next” if you are on page 1 or previous if you are on a subsequent page. Both of these are also links.

There are all sorts of reasons you might want to look beyond the first page of results. Even if you don't, this is a very basic thing that should be working and fully accessible, regardless of your personal preferences and how you like to use google.

Anyway, it is working here. You have to go further down the page. Google has added other search categories, and now the navigation links are past the "related searches" area. I don't think this used to be the case. You will find the ability to navigate to the different numbered pages of search results there. -----Original Message-----

If you arrow down after the first results are shown, sometimes there are buttons you can use to adjust what you are looking for. Below that are page numbers. Go to the number 2 to get to page 2. You are on page 1.

I tend to put -amazon -ebay and a dash/hyphen before any results I don't want to hear from. It helps to get to the ones I do want faster. And I have gone quite a few pages out just to see what is there.

Something else I like to check is the date of the entry. With me, going back much past 3 years isn't very relevant. But I agree, the first page is usually filled up by those paying for SEO placement. On the keyboard it is the same physical key. It isn’t until you get into word processing that it really becomes something different. For example when you use it between two words then it is a hyphen, but there are different types of dashes. All of that is irrelevant for this conversation, just an FYI. In Google there are all kind of tricks when searching. For example if you want to search a site for something you would use the “site” keyword. i.e. site://amazon.com dell Inspiron in the URL That would only search Amazon.com for all occurrences of “Dell Inspiron”. Not really, although some do say "dash" when they mean hyphen. For dashes, you can press the hyphen key twice. That was the old typewriter method. It isn't perfect. However, JAWS includes both em- and en-dashes (long and short) in its extended symbols list, found with JAWS key-4 on the number row above the letters. Press that combo, JAWS key-4, then first-letter navigate by pressing e, then arrow down six or seven times to the two dash options.

As I spellcheck this message, I notice that JAWS says (dash" for my hyphens. But the distinction is important.
