To see if I could duplicate what you are experiencing I went to Yahoo! and selected to sign up for Yahoo! email. On the page where it wanted my name and the email accoung I wanted (address and password) there was no "I'm not a robot" check box. Does it come up after that page?

Yahoo mail should not be used, its been sold several times and might
go away at any time. There are much better services, and to get
something decent you should pay for it -- isn't Emaiil important?

Because, the free services -- you are the product and they can change
them at any time and you have no recourse, they do what they want --
if you pay and its not much -- if you consider Email important -- you
get actual support.

Hi,

It depends what the free email account is used for.  The Yahoo account which I am useing to write this message is only for lists like this one. Currently it handles traffic from three lists and nothing personal at all.

So far there has been no clash between Yahoo and groups.io unlike when I used an Outlook account. Also, if this account starts to receive large amounts of spam and or viruses, it is a simple matter of removeing the account and starting another.

Gmail accounts have also been used for this purpose and with Thunderbird, they work well.  I find that using the gmail web site and the iPhone app a bit of a challenge which I don't need.

Sometimes, the check box did actually get checked but, the screen reader may need to have the screen refreshed.

If using Jaws, try doing a Jaws key with the escape key.  Hopefully, you will now see that the box actually did get checked.

Also, have you tried continueing as though the check box did get checked?  And, if necessary, maybe try using the Jaws touch curser to check the check box.  If you are using a different screen reader, maybe some one else will offer assistance.

Good luck,

James B

Because using Gmail, you have to check the box to delete each message individually , then after the emails have been checked, then and only then can you delete them. whereas with outlook you just hit the delete key and it's deleted. You can even do the control A, and all messages are deleted at once. Please don't tell me you are one of those who thinks nothing of spending $10 for a coffee at Starbucks in one sitting, yet bulks at paying for a service that lasts a year and costs around $69.

If the product is free, you are the product. That's true for any free email service as well. If that's a thing you're okay with, then... more power to you.

First you should withhold comments until you know more about the situation, you might avoid having to endure the taste of shoe leather as you put your foot firmly in your mouth!

While I can use the GMail web interface and often do to create filters and to do other things that I cannot do from within Thunderbird, most of the time I am using Thunderbird to manage my email in my GMail account and in Thunderbird I delete emails with a simple push of the delete key.

And why would I go to Starbucks or anywhere else for my morning cup of coffee when I can get it for a much lower price right in my own kitchen? Especially when I can get my coffee exactly the way I like it.

Besides, that's not really an appropriate comparison, I don't know of any place that gives you coffee for free, do you?

And yes, I know that Google is data mining whatever information about me I choose to let them have and I am perfectly fine with that because in return Google gives me a lot of services for free that I'd have to pay for anywhere else.

I can't speak for you or for anyone else, but I don't see anything wrong here. So I don't understand why you are questioning my choices.

There are places where you can get free coffee and sadly there are a lot who expect a lot for nothing. How often have we've seen posts from people who are running windows 7 and complain to the heavens that it is not as good as 10. Alright, you can't afford it for whatever reason, perhaps an addiction to a substance like smoking, but don't expect even demanding the 7 to be the same as 10 or, now 11. Totally off the mark, probably but better to be thought a fool and know it, then thought smart and be stupid. .

First, the coffee you make at home is most definitely not free. The difference is when you paid for it. Starbucks, you pay for it when you want it. At home, you paid for it the last time you were at the store just in case you want it. To answer your question, there are several restaurants that offer free coffee--or at least, free coffee refills. The intention is usually that you'll buy something else, like breakfast. Those places are certainly not making money off serving you coffee.

Second, your initial comment was not appropriate, and I know you know better... because we had this exact same conversation last week. Knock it off. You're out of warnings.
