Moderated What about Last Pass?

Marie Nelson

I have now used Keypass for several years and I can absolutely assure you that it does have the physical database on your computer and is not in the cloud unless you choose to place it or a copy in the Drop Box or One Drive, etc. This gives you total control of where your data is stored.

This is not true, no physical file for you to store, just use the app
or the browser. I must say they had a breech, but acted very
responsibly about it, so its worth getting. One thing, if you want
to use lastpass on more than one kind of device, such as your computer
and phone, its not free anymore.

That's a very good question because I am like you in that I do not trust cloud storage as much as I trust local storage. Thanks for bringing that up!

I am currently using the password manager that is built into Edge (it might actually be part of the Chromium engine Edge uses), it works but JAWS' support for it is often iffy at best.

Frankly, I don't trust cloud storage so I rather have the former as I
did in the Old RoboForm which I had used for years until they got to
version 7.

I apologize, I miss spoke. I like the physical file as you can often merge from a backup. I have mistakenly deleted an entry, and was able to restore from a backup. With cloud only you might have to pay for that option.

I would say the cloud since you can access your information from multiple devices.

For the longest time, since about 2003, I have used RoboForm and liked it. But starting with version 7 it started becoming inaccessible, and version 6, the last fully accessible version, is quite old and has no support for Edge or Chrome, so now I am looking looking for something to replace it.

The last time I looked at what was available Last Pass seemed to be the best option for what I wanted.

So I am asking for any comments from people who have used it.

Thanks!

What happens if you put something like your Apple ID in a password
manager? I was thinking of using something like BitWarden or similar but
was wondering if you'd have to leave some passwords out of a vault because
it might be hard to scrape a password from a vault during install.
