I can't get either insert five or insert three to work in mail. Period, of course, this is Microsoft Mail.

I haven’t used insert-5 for this purpose, but I just did and discovered it has a huge advantage over the insert-3 status line command. It not only lists the number of messages in a folder, but also the position of a particular message in that list. It’s a feature I’ve always missed since moving from Outlook Express to Outlook.

Sometimes when I’m going through my inbox after Jaws has said all of the info about the message it will say something like “1 of 400,” but it doesn’t always say this; is there any way to get this to always be said? I use the JAWS command JAWS Key plus number pad 3. If using the laptop layout, it is JAWS key plus shift plus n. Try that and see how well that works.
