Moderated deactivate jaws

I have Jaws 2022 installed on one computer. I will soon be getting a new laptop so will be installing jaws on the new laptop.
What do I need to do to deactivate the jaws install on the old computer so I am not using up one of my permitted installs? Thanks |

I don't think you can recycle authorization keys with JAWS. If you remove the key from your old computer, then it's gone. If you need your keys reset, go to http://fsactivate.com Vispero won't reset your keys unless you don't have any left. Just what I know. Kevin, Valerie and Jilly -----Original Message-----

Nothing at all as far as I can tell. The last time I deactivated JAWS, I first checked on Freedom Scientific's web site to see how many activations I have left. Then I did the deactivated JAWS. When I check the Freedom Scientific servers again, the activations I had left did not go up.

It doesn't really matter all that much because there is a link to reset your activations Gene... On 9/20/2022 9:18 PM, Don H wrote:

I don't know this for a fact but, it seems to me that if
you deactivate your Jaws authorization for one version then you will burn
another authorization authorizing the version of Jaws you install.
But, if you leave the currently installed version of Jaws
authorized the next version you install activates using the currently installed
version.
Personally I feel that everyone should, and I do have
several versions of Jaws installed on all our computers, if you have the
harddrive space to allow this. Or, at least keep 2 versions
installed.
Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go Dodgers!

Yes, keeping at least 2 versions of JAWS installed seems good common sense
as a just in case. Right now on both my desktop and laptop, I have 2020, 2021, and 2022. 2022, of course, is the one most used these days. As a relatively new user of Brian Hartgen's Leasey script package, I placed it on 2021 and will likely place it on 2023 when that comes out and Brian indicates the scripts are ready for that. 2020 is just there as a true emergency thing and, for no other reason as I've not bothered removing it as it bothers no one. 2022 and 2021 have icons on the desktop and can be activated, if not currently running, at a moment's notice. That's my setup for what it's worth. And it seems that, with the link Kevin mentioned earlier in this thread (and which I will save) can refresh things if it becomes necessary. The people of Freedom Scientific seem to have the job of key restoration and use done well. |
