Moderated jaws is displaying my math homework incorrectly

Hi everyone. For some reason Jaws appears to be reading my math
homework like utter nonsense. The assignment asks to tell whether each
relation is a function, and to write the domain and range. As an
example, here is the first ordered pair. {(1), (2), (3), (4)}. I am
writing the domain and range in the Nemeth code, exactly how it is
shown in my textbook, with the braille math editor and focus 40 blue
fifth gen. When I exit the braille math editor by pressing Enter on my
computer keyboard, Jaws says two things: "error displaying math
content", and the other is random things, like after a number, Jaws
says this: 1, prime. When trying to read the math content, Jaws
sometimes interprets the parentheses as "to the power of, and I didn't
even type any exponents. Basically, for some reason Jaws is turning my
homework into gibberish. I don't understand why this is happening,
when I am inputting everything correctly in the Nemeth Code on my
braille display.
I have Jaws braille input and output set to Unified English Braille
Grade 2, so I don't know if that is why this is not working? Either
way, I can't hand this in to my teacher. Does anyone who has
experience with the math editor in Jaws have any idea as to why this

Hi, Molly. Have you tried entering your homework straight from the computer keyboard, and does it turn the homework into gibberish that way? We need to figure out if it is the focus 40 blue turning your homework into nonsense, or is it the braille math editor? Is there any way to reduce the variables in the equasion (not the math problem), but the combination of the focus 40 blue and the braille math editor?

Hi, Molly. I understand that you are writing everything correctly. What we don't know yet is whether it is the math editor in the latest version of JAWS turning your expressions into gibberish, or whether it is the Focus 40 Blue doing so. Do you have an older version of JAWS, so you can test its braille math editor to see if it is a problem with the latest update to JAWS?

Hi. I've discovered that the equation editor in Microsoft Word is
working better than the braille math editor. It's annoying because I
find it much easier to do my math homework in the Nemeth code, but at
this point I just want to be done with the assignment. I'll call
Freedom Scientific Tech support on Monday and see if they can fix
things.
