Moderated How to change default settings for TCA Media Downloader?

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your post. When I went to the Options under the menus at alt +M, I found a box to check that would cause changes to the audio quality and download folder location to be saved when exiting the program. This did retain those changes  so now I’m good to go. This is an excellent program for extracting audio from youtube videos.

Alan

Hi Alan,

After you open the TCA program you can tab to, the Format or the Audio Quality comboboxes.

You can press, Alt + F, for format or  press, Alt + Q, for quality.

You can also press, Alt + M, for the menus

Tab to the Custom Directory checkbox and this will show where the downloads will go, if you uncheck this box you can browse to your location of choice.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.

Subject: How to change default settings for TCA Media Downloader?

Hello List,

I’ve been enjoying using the portable TCA Media Downloader posted here by Bill White. Can someone direct me how to change the program settings so I can make the default mp3 audio quality from 192 kbps to 320 kbps and I can change the default folder into which the extracted audio is saved into another location? It is a bit of a pain to have to manually change these items each time I use the program.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Alan,

Sorry, I misread your query and answered with the wrong info the first time but, to save your settings you need to open the menus after opening the TCA program and press, Alt + M, then press the letter, O, to open Options.

After pressing the letter, O, to open Options you'll be on, General, so tab to,
Save format, audio quality, location and output filename options check box
Make sure this box is checked.  If you make any changes tab to, Okay, and press enter to save.

Take care.  Mike.  Sent from my iBarstool.
