As a side note, each and every Groups.io Group supports a daily summary and two different digest formats (plain text and HTML) by default.  The mailing addresses also follow a consistent pattern, outlined below.  If the posting address for your group happens to include something other than just groups.io, e.g., jfw.groups.io, then that should be substituted in the email address templates below.  What should be use as GROUPNAME is whatever it is that precedes the at sign in the normal posting address for the group, in the case of this group, that would be "main" (sans quotes).

To join a group:  GROUPNAME+subscribe@groups.io

 

To unsubscribe from a group:  GROUPNAME+unsubscribe@groups.io

 

To receive an email containing  the group description and a list of these commands:  GROUPNAME+help@groups.io

 

To receive plain digests instead of individual messages:  GROUPNAME+digest@groups.io

 

To receive full featured digests (HTML formatted) instead of individual messages:  GROUPNAME+fulldigest@groups.io

 

To receive a daily summary instead of individual messages:  GROUPNAME+summary@groups.io

 

To receive individual messages instead of digests or a summary:  GROUPNAME+single@groups.io

 

To only receive special messages:  GROUPNAME+special@groups.io

 

To stop receiving messages via email (you may still read messages on the Web):  GROUPNAME+nomail@groups.io
If you go to no mail status for any reason, all you need to do is to send a message to one of the previously noted "message format" addresses to resume getting messages in that format.  This is a far better method to use than unsubscribing, as you can start getting messages again at any time without losing your membership or being put on first message moderation when you resubscribe.
