I'll correct myself because I went and looked it up. The speech history size was increased from 50 lines to 500 lines in JAWS 2021.

Something I should mention because there are users here that are using older versions of JAWS. The speech history feature used to keep only the last 50 or so lines. I believe, and please correct me if I am wrong, Vispero increased it to 500 in the 2022 version. |

Wow, this just what I was looking for. I needed to copy some text out of my college textbook so that I could quote it properly in my class paper. of course the digital textbook is set so that you couldn’t copy anything about it. |

You can do this by accessing the speech history. To do this press the JAWS key plus the space bar to get into layered mode, then press H to access the speech history. There you will find a list of the last 500 lines of speech JAWS said. It's basically like a text box in that you can navigate through characters, words, and lines. You can select the xt you want then copy it to the clipboard to paste somewhere else. Have fun! Gene... Hi, Mark. If you want to copy just a portion of your JAWS Speech History to clipboard, follow the steps that Gene Warner outlined. If, on the other hand, you want to copy the entire JAWS Speech History to the clipboard, the following command is available,
Copy Speech History to Clipboard. Insert + Space, control + H Copies whatever is currently available in Speech History directly to the Clipboard.
Having this command available, though does not preclude the use of CONTROL plus A to select everything in JAWS Speech History, followed by CONTROL plus C to copy the entire JAWS Speech History to the clipboard. The Insert + Space, followed by control + H command is just a command that cuts off a step.

No it wouldn't, it's only a list of what JAWS has said.

For controls that appear as graphics you could try the graphics labeler in JAWS. Unfortunately I can't tell you how to use it because I've never used it myself. I will eventually some day, it's just not very high on the priority list right now. Gene... On 8/29/2022 11:58 AM, Annabelle Susan Morison wrote:
Out of curiosity, would this work when you're trying to reassign classes to controls that would otherwise not be spoken correctly by JAWS? For example, if a program is made with Visual Basic, and all the controls seem to be spoken as "Graphic 0", most of them seem to be rendered as "ThunderRT6UserControlDC" when in fact they could be "Left/Right Sliders", "Up/Down Sliders", "Buttons", "Edits", "Combo Boxes", "Checkboxes", and the like?On 08/29/2022 8:21 AM Gene Warner <genewarner3@...> wrote: |
