Good morning too all of you on list, 

I’m writing too ask, if anyone else is experiencing this problem  with using the  Google Chrome browser. Running the latest version of Jaws, and   the most recent updates on both mine, and my girlfriends computer,  of windows 10,  It seems that if the both of us  type a particular phone number of a restaurant that we would like too go to,  The phone number of this particular restaurant either doesn’t show up in the address bar.  We both even tried typing in the address bar  for our library for the  blinds phone number  and the phone number doesn’t show up their either,  even though we both know that phone number.  We’ve both tried this  experience with   the same results.  Her internet service provider that she uses, is Verizon, and my internet service provider is Spectrum.  This problem started yesterday morning, on both of our computers.  My  question too the list here, is, has  the google chrome browser   changed, or did away with putting in phone numbers, or has the Google Chrome browser changed the format of its home page?

What’s interesting is that Albert seems to indicate that an expected behaviour has changed recently. I don’t know what that means.

The virtual cursor would be off for you to enter text, but not to read it on a webpage. If you move focus to the address bar, the virtual cursor will also not be on in that area. The virtual cursor being on or off doesn’t effect what text coems up. It does however affect what you can do with the keyboard.

When I called the Microsoft disability answer desk last evening, they suggested that I unplug the router.  When I turned the router back on, I got the same result.  So as both you and brian can see, I’m really trying everything here, too explain what’s happening here.

So are you saying you have no internet connection/can’t do anything on the internet?

I think you’re hearing “h h h “ because the virtual cursor is off. It’s the virtual cursor/buffer that allows you to do things like navigate by headings. Otherwise, you’re just pressing the h key, and adding the letter hs to something, probably in the address bar. You can press f6 to move away from the address bar.

No, what I  did,  is, is even though I now have the router on, even with the virtual cursor on, when I try navigating the headings with the H key, It just says HHH and won’t advance.  I can get on to the net just fine, with no problem. This problem just seems too have occurred on both mine, and My girlfriends computers.  She has an HP laptop computer with windows 10, and the latest Jaws 2022, and I have a dell laptop computer with latest Jaws 2022, and also, windows 10.

This may be a problem, in that Jaws tech support will most likely try and
refer me too call the Microsoft disability answer desk because it’s their
opinion that it is probably a windows issue rather then a jaws problem.
When I type the short cut G key on my desktop for Google chrome, I hit
the enter key and it says, google chrome address search control plus L
and that’s where I try too type the name and phone number of what I’m
looking for.
