Moderated kindle question

Hello Everyone,

People keep telling me that I can get books on the Kindle.

Last time I tried I did not find it very accessible and that was a few years ago.

Do any of you use the Kindle?

Which one and version and how accessible do you find it?

Thanks,

Jeff Lukacsena

I don't use a physical kindle, and the software I use is now years old
(deliberately not upgraded) so that I am not stuck with DRM. This
allows me to convert kindle books to plain text which I find very much
more usable.

DRM is why I won't touch Kindle, just like my music, I want to be able to listen to my books on whatever device I choose, not just the devices Amazon approves of enough to make a Kindle app for. Dito for Audible.

I use it on my iphone. Fairly accessible if you are reading a novel. Wouldn’t want to have to use it for anything academic!

As Richard said, the Kindle for PC app is very accessible. If you're reading for enjoyment, then the IOS app is great. If you need to navigate text, copy, etc., the I would recommend Kindle for PC.

How do you copy from the kindle for pc?

I haven't been able to do it.

I don’t think Kindle  will let you copy.

Speech history?  I'd test it, but I think it conflicted with my hotkey for starting k1000 and I gave it the heave-ho.

You can absolutely copy in kindle. Select the text you want to copy. Press control c as you normally would to copy. It will put you in an area of check boxes you can arrow through to select different highlight colors. Ignore this unless you want to highlight. If you hit tab once you can add a note. If you tab again you land on a copy button. Press it. You can now paste the text where ever you wish, and kindle includes information that sights your book for you.
