Hi Takis,

Thank you. I will watch out for issues with larger pdfs.

Subject: marking a pdf file

Dear Karen,

I somehow recollect you had asked about setting a mark within a pdf file. Using jaws, I find the location and hit cntrl-windows-k and jaws usually says/shows “temporary mark”. When I want to go back to it, I simply hit k. However, the method is not always stable, and I think that in large files, I had one of 400 pages, once closed and reopened on another occasion, this marking did not work, and I was lucky to remember where I stopped and found it using the search facility. Other may, perhaps, improve on my comments.

Hope this is of help to you,

                                                                Takis

If it is not in the System Tray, there may be other things that are going on to get it there. You may have to contact Tech Support at Freedom Scientific. It that doesn’t help fix the problem, contact me privately and I possibably could fix it for you if you would allow me to have a Tandam session into your computer with JAWS.

Hi,

Did you press ALT + F4 and restart JAWS?

After you restart JAWS, see if it is now in the System Tray.

Hi,

I went into Jaws and alt f and arrowed down to basics. I pressed enter and tabbed down to the box to check to put Jaws in the system tray. Just under that was another box that was checked which I don’t know what it is or what it does. It was

“show virtual viewer on screen”. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Also, when I checked to put it in the system tray, it is still in the alt tab line up when I cycle through programs using that keystroke. Is there something else I need to do?
