I’ve
got Windows 10 and JAWS 2020. I’ve had the font in a Word file
change. Obviously, I’ve inadvertently changed it. My default font is
Calibre and it has changed to Laido, so instead of normal length of lines each
line is very, very long. I can get to the Home spot and change font there,
but the change is not reflected when I return to my Word file. What should
I be doing instead of just hitting the enter key once I’ve made the
change? My

If you change font through the Word dialog with either control-f or control-d, tabbing will take you to a default button.

Don,
You do not explicitly state that you have all your text selected, but you must do that first if you're trying to change the font face for text that's already written. Once that's been done, CTRL + D or CTRL + Shift + F will open the Font dialog where you can choose font face, size, and other attributes. -- Brian - Windows 10, 64-Bit, Version 21H2, Build 19044 Here is a test to find out whether your mission in life is complete. Thanks, Brian amd Adrian. Brian, I have highlighted the whole text of
the file but when using control D it doesn’t effect the change.

The "Set as Default" button will NOT change the existing text to the newly chosen font, it just makes that newly chosen font what will be used by default when you are entering new text. If you want the existing text you have selected to change, you have to hit the OK button in the Font dialog. I’d done as you suggest, Brian, but when I tinkered, my problem was size of
font. I changed that to 10 and now all is back to normal!
