OK all you Firefox users, it was seven or eight years ago when I tried Firefox. Other than this current accessibility hiccup, would it be worth looking at again?
One of the things that Internet Explorer did that I wish these other browser developers would do is how it handled favorites or bookmarks. The beauty of Microsoft's approach was that you could just use your favorite file manager to manage your bookmarks. Gene... |

I personally prefer Chrome. Firefox is third on my list, Edge being number 2.

Yeah, but I just ignore all of that. I understand that Chrome is just as bad, only it's Google instead of Microsoft. That is why I am thinking of giving Firefox another look to see if it is any less confusing than it was all those years ago.

I have decided to try Firefox again, only I'm going to start with version 101 to avoid the context menu problem version 102 has. Now I have a question, there seem to be three different version for Windows 64:

Firefox is easily the most simple to learn of all the browsers. This is open source so updates or fixes are regular. The favorites are your bookmarks, very to save a website and to then go find your library of saved or bookmarked sites. However, the management of the bookmarks is not there and if you save many sites, you would simply start at the top which is the site you had saved longest back and go down to the most recent. Also, the problem is if you accidently hit the delete key while any specific site may be highlighted within your library, it is gone. Simple but not enough for management or categorizing the sites and needing some sort of confirmation to delete in case of user mistake. Other than that, the browser and JFW have their issues together where the find command is sometimes an issue but all and all, I prefer this browser over the others. -----Original Message-----

Besides, the way Chromium is built, even with the more independent browsers (iE not related to google), therea re privacy concerns. Makers of ad blockers and privacy extensions are warning that soon much of this stuff may not be able to work properly (I have seen a youtube video about thisa nd also talked to a software developer frienda bout it).

Eme-free = drm free. So basically, if you want to use firefox to do stuff like view proprietary streaming content (say, netflix), don’t' get this. Arch64 = for arm...basically crippled versions of Windows. Don't get this. Just go for regular 64 bit firefox. -----Original Message-----

Of course. Always good to have many browsers and currently Firefox is kind of standing alone and is an exempler in a way of how the web ought to be (but largely isn't).

I don't have an issue with bookmarks. I know firefox stores them somewhere; can't recall where at the moment, but I think it is pretty easy to export them to an html file if you find that easier, it's not a thing I play with very often. -----Original Message-----

I haven't tested to confirm this, but it is possible that, as in something like MS Word, the 64 bit version has an easier time loading very large pages quickly. This is something that I have occasionally complaineda bout with Firefox in the past, though it may also be related to JAWS specifically -- it takes a while for very long pages to all appear in the virtual buffer. Not positive but I *feel* this has improved in later versions of Firefox. But I don't have the resources to make test comparisons. Anyway, I do use 64-bit software when I can, since there doesn't seem to be any reason I can think of *not* to take advantage of this architecture.

or name. You can jump by letter, like in a folder. You just right arrow into bookmarks toolbar, and if I want the latest bookmarks, I just up arrow to the bottom of the list, because I sort my folders so the latest file is at the bottom. Also, if you have a bookmark, you don't even have to open the bookmarks, you can simply do control L and type in a few of the first letters of the URL and press enter and hit enter and the browser goes there.
