Moderated I need a USB headset that does not leak JAWS speech to mic

Hi all,
Looking for a stereo USB headset that does not leak speech through the microphone. I tried the logitech H300 and it leaked speech. Anyone have experience with any duel or single USB headset?

Greetings:

There are two possible headsets that I could recommend.

  1. Plantronics – Blackwire 3220 – Wired Dual-Ear (Stereo) Headset with Boom Mic – USB-A to connect to your PC and/or Mac from Amazon
  2. V7 Deluxe USB Stereo Headset with Microphone, Mute/Volume Button from A.T. Guys.

HTH.

hi,
How well are these with ambient noise from your experience? Also, if computer volume is say about 80% does  microphone pick up the speech? I’ve purchased a few and return them which is why I wanted personal experiences. These companiesThese companies market nic noise cancellation and they don’t do well from my experience. Thank you

Feliciano:

I have used both of these headsets. The microphones are not so sensitive as to pick up ambient sound. I have my microphone sensitivity in Zoom set to 100% with minimal noise suppression. Honestly, for me, the headset from A.T. guys has a microphone which gives my voice a louder volume than the one from Plantronics.

Why is your volume set as high as 80%? I mean, is your screen reader talking really loudly?

I have both the logitek H600 and the H800 and there is no leaking of the Jaws speech with either headset. I use them on most of my zoom meetings

Hi Chris,

Can you give the web site of the headset you speak of?  I’m trying to use Dragon, and I have a hearing impairment, so the JAWS volume needs to be higher than most users.

With no hands, typing with my telegraph key, because of medical issues, has gotten more difficult over the years, so some other input method is sought.  The microphone I currently use picks up JAWS—it is a stand-alone—so I might give J Say a try.

Thanks,

Dennis T. Brown
