Cohn, Jonathan
And if you type JAWS key plus A ttwice quickly, it will bring this up in the virtual browser so it is even easier to select and copy the parts you want.

Now I didn't know about a double-tap on
it.
That's handy for folks who might have trouble
finding their place in the page.

In addition to the JAWS insert-a solutions, you could press insert-d to bring the address into Windows focus, then control-c to copy it. In my case, I then paste the result into Notepad where I can read and edit it.

That is what I usually do, but Mark indicated that
when he does this, he loses his place on the web page.

He shouldn’t if he copies the URL after pressing alt-d. Depending on the browser, press F6 twice (MS Edge) or three times (Chrome) to return to that same spot on the webpage.

I think it depends on the content of the web
page.
sometimes I land where I was and other times I
don't.
But it isn't difficult for me to find where I was,
either by jumping by heading, or remembering a couple words where I left off and
use the find command.

Mark, In cases like this, I will often insert a temporary placemarker where I was on the webpage before moving to a different program or going to the address bar. Hit Control Windows K to put that temporary placemarker. When you come back from the address bar or another document, just hit the letter k to quickly move to where you left off.

I know this is a bit of a work-around but I do the following. Somewhere on the page I find myself & do not want to move focus from that point but want to know the current address. I use, Insert+A, to have the address read aloud. I use, Insert+Spacebar and then H, to open speech history. I select and copy the address. I close the speech history window and continue reading where I left and activate links but having the URL on the clipboard until I am ready to use it.
